Combed cotton (where short fibres are removed before spinning) gives a smoother, more premium finish than standard cotton at a modest price increase. Cambric cotton, lighter and crisper, is a strong choice for prints and warm-weather garments.

Linen: Texture and Breathability
Linen has a natural texture and superior breathability compared to cotton, making it a favourite for resort wear and warm-climate collections. It creases more easily than cotton, which some brands lean into as part of the aesthetic, and others manage with linen-cotton blends for a more structured, easy-care finish.

Silk Blends: Drape and Occasion Wear
Pure silk is expensive and delicate; silk blends (like tussar silk blends or modal satin silk) offer much of the drape and sheen at a more accessible price point and with easier care.
